The Carnival of Children’s Literature is now a Facebook Group!
The Kidlitosphere Yahoo Group is closing down this weekend (and I didn’t want to lose my connection to all of the #kidlit bloggers in that community) so I opened up a new Facebook Group. In the Kidlitosphere Yahoo Group we talked about blogging #kidlit and at the Carnival of Children’s Literature we share the #kidlit books that we have reviewed on our blogs. The two go together like peanut butter and jelly! Yum!
When the Carnival of Children’s Literature started in 2006, it was a monthly roundup hosted at a different blog each month. (See our About page to look at the archives.) As social media evolved over the years, #kidlit bloggers moved to new platforms. The Carnival followed and moved to Pinterest in 2014 as a weekly meme. This October 2015 move to a Facebook Group changes the Carnival in new ways as it becomes a daily topic of discussion.
Honestly, I set up the Carnival as a daily meme because I really miss my Google Reader! It was so nice to see all of the #kidlit blogs I read in one place, but Google closed it in 2013. (sigh)
Change is the only constant and so we will adapt to that old change and this new one–and move the Carnival to Facebook. The 2015 Carnival of Children’s Literature Group Board on Pinterest will stay open for the rest of the year. At the end of the year, we’ll talk about what to do next…
For now, enjoy an early Halloween “Trick or Treat” surprise. Come and join us on Facebook. I look forward to seeing you there!
